Shin and Tomoko Azumi

Echtpaar in design. Shin Azumi en Tomoko Azumi zijn in Londen gevestigde ontwerpers. Hun expertise richt zich op het ontwerpen van meubels, verlichting, huishoudelijke elektronica en zelfs ruimtelijk ontwerp voor kantoorinterieurs, restaurants, tentoonstellingen, winkels en gespecialiseerde zaken. Shin Azumi werd geboren in Kobe, Japan in 1965, terwijl zijn vrouw, Tomoko Azumi, werd geboren in Hiroshima, Japan in 1966. Ze ontmoetten elkaar aan de Kyoto City University of Arts in Japan. Beiden behaalden hun masterdiploma aan het Royal College of Art. Ze richtten de Azumi Studio op en werkten van 1995 tot 2004 samen aan diverse projecten. Hun 9 jaar durende samenwerking leidde tot designinspiraties, waaronder de LEM Stool, die werd bekroond met Product van het Jaar bij de International Interior Design Awards. Verschillende van hun werken bevinden zich in permanente collecties van internationale musea.
